M-65 DCU Field Jacket Size: Medium - Regular

This is a three color desert camo (DCU) M-65 field jacket in size Medium/Regular. The jacket is genuine G.I. issue and dated 1991, which makes it a very early issue jacket in the. This jacket is in good, used condition. There are small grey stains at the front of the jacket from the waist to the hem (pictured). This is the real deal, not an aftermarket copy.

Although they are considered bulky by today's outerwear standards, the M-65 field jacket is an icon of military fashion. They are extremely rugged and very warm. They are perfect for hunting or general outdoor activity where the wearer does not have to pack for extended periods.

The DCU field jackets are actually quite uncommon. The DCU was adopted around the time that the new generation of cold weather gear was being adopted and Gore-Tex was quickly replacing the field jacket in training and garrison use. Although the field jacket soldiered on for many more years, the DCU pattern field jacket was a special issue item used primarily by the small contingents of personnel deploying to the Middle East in the 1990's. Its issue was limited and its use was even more minimal. By the GWOT years, the DCU field jacket was no longer being issued to deploying troops, having been superseded by Gore-Tex parkas in that pattern.

Keep in mind that these jackets were sized to be worn over a full set of fatigues.
