This is an iconic British Army DPM camouflage smock. It is a men's size medium (see measurements below). It is in used, very good condition. The color is strong, but there is a slight reddish stain on the right shoulder.
The classic British military smock is used much like the American field jacket. It is intended to be worn over a fatigue shirt or other layers. Given the climate in Britain and Northern Europe, however, the British smock was considered to be much more of an everyday part of the uniform as opposed to an outer layer to be used during cold weather months.
This smock features four large patch pockets with the iconic large British buttons. Both breast pockets feature integral zippered pockets with internal pen pockets. It has a very small patch pocket on the left shoulder secured by Velcro. The smock features an integral hood that can be rolled down into a collar. The hood has a stiff wire at the edge for shaping it. The front opening is secured by a heavy duty plastic zipper and Velcro patches. The sleeve cuffs are likewise secured by Velcro.
