This is an M-1923 cartridge belt in OD #7. It is in used, good condition. There is some rust to the grommets and the very top left grommet is missing. Otherwise, there are no tears or worn areas. The quartermaster stamp is no longer legible. This is the late version without the internal stripper clip straps.
OD #7 started to replace the OD #3 khaki gear in late 1943. Due to the massive stocks of OD #3, its issuance was haphazard and it never entirely replaced the latter color until after the end of WWII.
Genuine cartridge belts are becoming very hard to find! They were once sold in giant bins for pocket change in surplus stores and they were used to equip the backyard adventures of young boys. Now, M-1923 cartridge belts that are in usable condition are genuine collector's items and are at the core of every WWII collection.
