This is a WWII issue khaki overseas cap. It is in used, good condition for its age. It is a size Medium with an internal circumference of about 22.5". It is stained from wear and storage. It features a genuine leather sweatband which remains soft and supple. This hat has the light blue piping, which indicates that this was an infantryman's hat.
This hat was meant to be worn with the khaki summer service uniform. These hats were referred to as "garrison hats" or "overseas hats" because they were to be worn in garrison and were much more convenient for travel than the traditional service hat which had to be protected when not in use.
