For your consideration is a post Vietnam War U.S. Army dress green overcoat. It is in used, good condition. It appears as though it was well cared for and the AG-44 color remains strong. The coat is missing its belt. There is a series of very small snags in the fabric at the left breast. Also, there is a small stain on the right sleeve cuff (pictured) that should come out with dry cleaning. The coat has its original zip-in liner. Unfortunately, the liner's interior pocket opening is ripped. Nonetheless, this is a fine overcoat! It is made of 100% Gabardine Wool.
This overcoat is made in the traditional trench coat style. In fact, Gabardine was used as a weather-proof and water repellant outer fabric for hundreds of years. Nevertheless, this coat lacks many of the common features associated with a more modern trench coat, such as storm flaps and waterproofing.
A commercially made overcoat of comparable quality would cost hundreds of dollars.
