Vintage M-1951 Field Jacket Size: Medium - Regular #2

This is a genuine U.S. Army M-51 field jacket in size Medium/Regular. The label is long gone, so please refer to the measurements below. This jacket is in used, good condition. It is faded for the classic OG-107 look. There is a large repair at the bottom rear (pictured), there are small holes on the right sleeve forearm (pictured) and there are dirt stains from field use (pictured). One of the top liner and hood buttons are broken (pictured). There is a strange stain/mis-coloration at the bottom of the rear of the coat (pictured). Lastly, the owner removed the zipper which makes the jacket much like its M-1950 predecessor. There is much life left in this jacket! The sleeves, collar and hem are all in good shape without any fraying.

This is the classic military field jacket. The M-51 was used through much of the Korean War and well into the 1980's during the time that OD field jackets were authorized for wear. Although it was superseded by the M-65 in the mid-1960's, the M-51 was often sought after because it retained the traditional pointed collar. In garrison duty, when pressed and starched, this collar provided a very sharp appearance - one of the reasons it remains a classic icon of American military fashion!

Not only are these jackets sharp, they are extremely rugged. They are a great weatherproof jacket when worn alone, but also provide tremendous warmth when paired with the liner. This would be a great field jacket for a reenactor who needs a jacket that looks field worn, but not worn out.

Do not pay twice as much for a high dollar reproduction!
